We've been to Honeymoon Bay though. In fact, we once spent a few days in there hiding from a nasty norther. Boats a few miles away in Puerto Escondito were saying that they measured gusts of over 50 kts and the waves going past the outside of the bay were impressive. By the time it blew itself out, we were ready to move on or we would have probably moved up to the cove in your photo. It's just the kind of place we like to hang. You're right about the changing winds thing though. You always gotta keep an eye on that stuff.

Big anchors and lots of heavy chain are better than sleeping pills for allowing a cruiser to get a good nights sleep. I love that old saying that if your dock neighbors don't giggle when they walk past your boat, you anchor isn't big enough.
