verity of reasons. Having said that, I believe the sheeting arrangement must fit the boat. Trying to configure mid boom sheeting at the expense of getting into and out of the cabin is just nuts. If it ends up on the cabin top then you win the brass ring IMHO. My arrangement is such that I have a mechanical vang, mid boom sheeting on a traveler on the pilot house and two preventers fixed in place with lines running back to the cockpit through Camlocs port and staarboard. With that combination I can induce pretty much any shape I feel like into the sail. I have a fully battened main sail with lazy jacks built into my "Lazy Cradle". The Lazy Cradle is the UK Sails version of a Stack Pack. I don't care for the Stack Pack by Doyle because the front part of the cover is harder to put on then UK's front flap that zippers on in a couple o seconds. I also like the fact that the battens go the full length of the cover and the Doyle systems I've seen they stop a few feet from the front of the boom. However, after all is said and done, as I get older a fully roll-able mainsail is looking better and better.
