Several years ago we used reports from his weather station to time a move from Oxford to Knapps Narrows where we then hunkered down for 3 days waiting for a tropical storm to pass. We are a small lightweight boat. We use all the weather info we can get.

but his wind instruments are fairly sheltered and don't give us good information for sailing or for our exposed-to-the-north home location. I've thought about getting our own set-up but we don't really have a good spot for it - Very sheltered on 3 sides, exposed on the other.
