I was working my way down the ICW near Stuart when the engine died. There was very little wind but I used what was left of it to sail toward Peck Lake. I didm't make it that far. The wind completely died and I drifted onto a sand bar a mile short of Peck Lake. My friends Dave and Debbie on Destiny came by and offered to help but I told them I was fine and would wait for the wind to come back. It did, in the early evening, and I ghosted along into the Peck Lake anchorage. Once inside, I dropped the hook and settled in for the night. I was then hailed by a woman on a multihull from Quebec who was anchored 50 yards away. She said they had out 200 feet of rode and I was too close. Peck Lake has, at most, 10 feet of water and is protected from all directions. I was still a novice cruiser and pulled up my anchor, beat another 20 yards up wind and reanchored. I wouldn't do that now.
