... But I HATE small gas generators on sailboats!!!!
It is simply one of the most offensive sounds I know and I will not participate! It isn't that they are so loud as much as the way the sound resonates. In my world they do not belong on sailboats.
Before anyone beats me about the head on this one, just for the record, I own a very nice Honda EU3000is generator that we use while camping. Even this unit (the quietest made by spec) with its very nice low rumble (as opposed to the higher frequency buzz of the 1000 and 2000 watt model Hondas) does not get run when anyone else might be listening. I try hard to keep it quiet...
I will not use a gas generator on our boat.
