Sure but, open ocean, think of the miles you could cover going 30 knots.

The right conditions to get up on the foils would be rare, but you'd see it along the coast where this boat would likely be used. It would be intense keeping a lookout along the coast for other boats or off shore fishing gear, not to mention the grueling attention to sail trim. But in the typical coastal cruisers sail of 4-5 hours(?), instead of sailing from Sandwich to Provincetown Mass, you -could- be dropping anchor in Penobscot Bay Maine. The only way to do that now is in a huge fuel guzzling power boat. Temptation like that would be hard to resist!

Don't worry about slowing down, a cats cradle of pot warp will attach to the foils and rudders.
