Solder vs. crimp connectors
In joining wires, I use crimp connectors and so do most people I know. I picked up a small battery powered soldering gun that works well on wires. Any reason not to be soldering the connections rather than using the crimp connectors. Would cover with shrink tubing or rescue tape to keep out the water.
Any thoughts?

- Watch the type of solder, but otherwise it's fine to use solder.
- When you solder you make a rigid connection rather than flexible
- solder is better if done correctly
- I was always told to crimp if the amp draw was going to be high
- Crimp connectors with shrink tubing & sealant are really good.
- If the wire is tinned I'd always crimp
- Problem comes with the adjacent connection.
