When you solder you make a rigid connection rather than flexible

A quality crimp and crimper will be more forgiving to movement, if you have an area without vibration or movement then solder. Years ago as a professional electician we used to cadweld ground large ground connection to insure low resistance. Now everone uses high quality crimps. I have a first rate Ancor ratchet crimper and use heat shrink crimps.

- Watch the type of solder, but otherwise it's fine to use solder.

- solder is better if done correctly
- I was always told to crimp if the amp draw was going to be high
- Crimp connectors with shrink tubing & sealant are really good.
- If the wire is tinned I'd always crimp
- Problem comes with the adjacent connection.
- I did note that some would say that solder is better; however, let's go to ABYC
