OK I have an inflatable, high pressure floor dink.
What I am trying to figure out is the best way to move the dink under various conditions. For blue water I would tend to deflate the whole thing and put it down below.
But for short runs, really short runs, I have towed it (motor off of course). But why should I tow it with a long painter? That is the biggest question I have. I have also towed it with the stern tied up high to the rails on the stern of my boat, with just the tip of the bow of the dink in the water... seems to me this is putting the least drag on the whole affair... is this not a good tow method?
For runs of about 50 miles or more, I am tempted to partially deflate it and put it on the foredeck.
So please share your seasoned salty opinions with me. Thanks
