Long bridle works well.
In Response To: Tender transport... questions ()

The painter is too short. I played with it coming back from Cuttyhunk a weekend ago and the long line worked much better. I now have a short loop between the Achilles' D rings and a long line with a thimble the loop can slide around on. The long line then gets cleated to both sides of the transom. Will see how that works in Maine. We'll roll and tie it on the foredeck for the passages up and back.

I've tried the haul-it-up to the pushpit but seems awkward. But does have little drag!
