I too looked at that but even if it meets the legal a requirement the real question is whether other boaters will recognize it as a distress signal, or simply wonder "what the...?". Is it simply a strobe timed with SOS morse code? (Couldn't find the info in about 5 or 10 mins of looking). If that's what it is its not something your average joe in a center console will decipher, IMHO.

There's no question about what a pyrotechnics flair means. I want something that will actually bring help.
