Yep- I did replace one end, with a hose repair fitting. Mine lives in a canvas bag, in a kitty

litter bucket, in a cockpit locker.
Kitty litter buckets are great by the way- square or rectangular, many are see through, and with lids that at least stop splashes. I don't have cats, but have collected a bunch from friends who do.
Oh- and they make a pretty good laundry tub too GRIN
