For poling out the Genoa I traditionally use our 16 ft spinnaker pole. Now that I've swapped down to a 100% Jib, I only need something around 9 feet. It would be nice to have a shorter pole that is easier to handle, and to have a second pole so that I could potentially pole out both the jib and the staysail at the same time.
With that in mind, when back in the U.S. I cut the end fittings off my reaching strut (which I no longer use) and brought them back to the UK. Now I'm trying to find an aluminum tube that fits them.
I found a tube that will fit my end fittings, and has a wall diameter that is more than adequate.
Is there any reason this won't be adequate, even though it's not anodized?

Thanks.
