Personally I like the micro 2/3 cameras. I need a viewfinder because of my aging eyes and the brightness of while on the water both of which preclude using an LED screen.
The micro 2/3 cameras are smaller than the full sized DSLRs with almost the same picture quality. The size makes me take the camera with me more of the time which more than makes up for any quality differences. Both Panasonic and Olympus make good equipment.
Different cameras for different people.
Go to a good store and handle different cameras and see what fits you best.
