It sure is tempting to be able to trailer a boat to a vacation spot, and would extend the possible range. I'm not into sailboat trailering... Just not practical to do all that setup and takedown even with a small boat. Plus I don't want to have a gas guzzling truck capable of towing that much weight as my daily driver.
OTOH -- some of the best times are when the wind comes up enough to be able to shut off the motor, after a few hours of motoring, and the sails fill.... and the relative SILENCE as we glide across the water with only the soothing sounds of a low gurgle or gentle wave splash from the hulls. It puts a smile on.
