General Design Theory – lightweight – high performance – simple to sail and maintain: I love

this boat. The design moves away from the heavy energy hog cruising boats that sell for tons more money(because they weigh tons more). In comparison, the base priced but fully equipped Mainecat 38 is a deal.

You can't overload it and keep it's performance - I like that concept. That's a good model for energy efficiency. The layout is quite a space for a group of people spending vacation time. You could easily take guests for a week on this boat but a couple could easily live aboard it.
