Depending on the year of the boat, that is anywhere between 1/2 million and 3/4 million dollars, maybe a little more. I'm by no means an expert in making that run but I al also confused about the amount of breakage, chaffing, etc. That is a huge investment (at least would be for me) and I think I would have done the fine tooth comb of maintenance knowing I might be in for a rough ride? Perhaps they put too much faith in the boat and not enough time in the pre-run preparations?

I dunno, it just seems odd. All that said, I'm glad they made it. I think I would also find something else to do that didn't involve a sailboat?
