My AB died about a year ago... it used old style freon, and the control unit seems to have failed too. Granted, the unit was over 30 years old, and by all appearances was an original install... perhaps that alone is support for shopping for another Adler / Barbour unit. However, they do draw a bit of current, where as the Engel units seem to draw dramatically less power.
