The Rivet Counters will frown on much of what I've done on this rebuild.

I've owned this '71 88 for over 20 years but once the frame rotted out it sat behind the shop for 15 waiting for the time and money to bring it back. A couple years ago I went to a parts source in Vermont and bought a new frame, springs, brake parts, etc and began rebuilding. Everything got stripped, repainted, rebuilt or replaced. I more concerned with function than keeping it original. Among many upgrades, marine grade tinned wire with proper fusing, a gear reduction starter, and the 13 amp generator was replaced with a Delco alternator. This is a photo a friend took on one of the trails at Winter Romp in Benton Maine last February.
