Those are clever but it seemed to me after all the dock jockeying he did...oh and stepped ashore ANYway, it would have been just as easy, perhaps easier to simply cleat the lines.
Now, having the aft spring already affixed would indeed be nice but if the lines are ready when you come in? I dunno. I dunno.

- I have, but it works way better with an aft breast spring. That puts the force amidships and
