Erie is a boating community with thousands of slips, yet we have nothing to compare to the boats in your photos other than one wood hulled project boat called "Dreamer" that was restored by members of the Erie Yacht Club. (I did a quick search but couldn't find a good photo)

We also have none of the islands, bays or destinations you all enjoy. For us, that old saying about it being ride and not the destination could not be more true. The nearest islands are at the West end of the lake which is a long sail against the prevailing winds, usually 3 days ducking into local YC's to spend the night.
