Except for defensive voting (against all tax levies, and that's about it), I stopped voting after realizing that it amounts to nothing more than attempting to impose my will on my neighbors through a surrogate who carries a gun and demands compliance, even to the point of killing those who would resist. I just cannot in good conscience to that. The system is inherently divisive at best. Government (aka, a group using the threat of violence to achieve their goals) is a barbaric way to do things and is just plain wrong and should be eliminated in favor of a voluntary society. The superstition that anyone has the right to rule needs to go the way of other superstitions such as those surrounding rabbit's foots and black cats.
