Adding multiple sources loses the economy of scale of a very large generator run by coal, nuclear or oil. Each turbine is an independent source. Those sources must be integrated and leveled which adds to wastage and makes them less efficient than an equivalent system with a larger single generator.
Of course, when something goes wrong, you also need to factor in the boat ride, high climb and other excess expenses for repair or replacement.
As a result, both generating and operational efficiency suffer.
The other issue is that wind power cannot be turned on and off or throttled back on demand unless you have a way to store the excess power generated. Copper mines are just the start, think of the lead mines.
Wind power will make a nice gap filler but, for sustained generation, it isn't an answer.
