Our sailmaker recommended no more than 135%, due to the design of our boat. If I had been paying attention, I would have gotten a 134% and gotten an extra 3 points phrf. At least that's the way they do it here on the Chesapeake.
Also, our sails are now 10 yrs old and the foam luff is still working very well, thank you very much. The Harken roller furling works very well for shortening sail. We regularly shorten the jib and leave the main full up for upwind work and pop the Genoa out downwind in a good breeze. We've sailed that configuration down to just a hanky sized Genoa still with full main in 30+ kts of wind. It works very well and freaks out the other guys who all have to just about stop to shorten sail. I love it, as we go charging past with a balanced helm!
