Yeah, my cockpit weather cloths have proved more valuable down here, than back in NJ in December... (grin)

Hi Mark,

...right now I'm still in Miami Beach, hoping to cross over perhaps Monday... Last couple of days have finally managed a bit of sunbathing, but damn, it's still been pretty cold - not every night you walk into a restaurant on South Beach wearing a Patagonia winter coat... LOL!

I love the Miami Beach anchorage, but last night moved into Sunset Lake to seek protection from the anticipated strong S-W winds in advance of the next front coming thru tonight... Gale warnings are now posted, but curiously few boats out in the big anchorage appear to be making any sort of move to seek more protection... Probably gonna be a wild ride out there later today, then when the wind comes west, there's nothing but concrete seawall behind you... (grin) With all the options here for tucking in behind the various islands of Venetian Causeway and such, I'm really surprised that more boats don't appear to be re-locating, perhaps they will be this morning...

First time I've ever been here in Sunset Lake, what a beautiful spot, I'll be snug as a bug in here...

It's been years since I spent time at anchor in Miami Beach, gotta be one of the finest urban anchorages anywhere, I've forgotten how nice it can be to spend some time here..

best regards,

Jon
