Connected to the bowl by a short piece of hose. And all can easily be replaced by unbolting 'em from the base and removing a couple of hoses. The Lavac pump, instead of sitting next to the bowl, is mounted on a bulkhead further away.

The REAL difference between the Lavac and most other manual toilets is in the technology used, not in the materials or even the frequency of rebuild/repair.

I'm a big fan of the Lavac...it and the PH II are the only two manual toilets that sell for less than a Baby Blake I recommend any more.
