their mother ship was totally blacked out and announced their arrival by VHF "vessel at coordinates (etc etc) making four knots, this is the coast guard ! Prepare for boarding! Please maintain your speed and course - we will come to you" which they did forthwith. It got a little crowded on board what with all the guns (their's and mine) The first thing they said is "we will have to inspect your bilges for excess water captain" which I thought rather considerate of them! Very professional, and polite bunch of kids (the oldest appeared to be about sixteen years old - same as my dentist). They noted that my flares were expired (though I did have about 300 of them on board) and complemented us on wearing our blow-up vests which were the same as theirs. I was happy to note they had picked us up on radar, as I was not sure anyone could see us - actually it gave me the warm and fuzzies knowing they were out there ...should times have gotten hard.
