You may thing it's a silly question, but I remember Evens writing something about using a helmet with face shield in tough spray conditions. I find it difficult to have unprotected eyes in a cold head-wind, as the cold wind tends to make my eyes water and run enough to make it difficult to see through the tears. A spray dodger or windshield can also have detrimental effects especially at night, and after reading that I have meant to give it a try. A very close face shield might be easier to see through.
