Need to find out if there is a particular epoxy or product that will set up with or isolate a water soaked core. I have a small area, about one foot in diameter, around a thru hull drain valve(bottom of the thru hull drain sits right at the water line) that I went to replace and found the area around the thru-hull was water soaked. I scraped out as much of the mushy stuff I could, but wonder what to do next. I can reach the area form both inside the hull and outside(the boat is out of the water). My plan was to replace the plastic thru hull that is old and brittle with a new Marelon thruhull fitting.
