since they aren't really pertinent to the issue at hand, but I see now that there are other ways to approach Rockland by
road other than from the North. When all you do is sail someplace, you don't have much of a feeling for the roads.
I do know, however, that there are areas in Coastal Maine, including some in the Southern part of Casco Bay, which can only
be approached from the North by road: it's often the case that the shortest route by far is by water.
