We spent the first summer of our new boat ownership based out of Rockland. Great place to leave a car, really great jump off point for any number of places along the coast. It isn't a 'fly in' place unless you have the bucks to do the charter flight thing but it's not so bad a drive from Portland or even Boston. We 'commuted' that summer to the US West coast a number of times. Well worth it. Have nothing but great things to say about Charlie at Beggar's Wharf. (is he still around there? hope so)

I'd do it again in a heartbeat if Maine were in my plans again!
