DQOTD: diesel engine lubricating oil 
I have a Yanmar 3QM30F. I have been putting 10/40 in for the last several years. I was reading the service manual the other day and Yanmar recommends diesel engine lubricating oil. Is there a big difference and if so, am I doing any harm by using the 10/40?
