Looking for ideas regarding electric bilge pump installation.

Currently I only have a manual bilge pump...

It was suggested by the surveyor that I install an electric bilge pump. (and alarm) And of course the insurance company wants to know what I plan on doing about these "suggestions."

The electrical hookups don't seem to be an issue... just the mounting of it and the output.

My bilge right now is fairly dry; well, only slightly damp... I pumped it out a month ago and have seen no increase what so ever... in fact I plan on wiping it down to see just how dry it will stay. (it is deep and narrow, so I need sticks to reach the bottom) I have a dripless seal, so I am not likely to take on water there... and my mast is stepped on deck, so again, no water there.

The biggest issue I see is do I need to add another thru hull? The manual bilge pump has a dedicated thru hull and is plumbed through a small channel under the floorboards and engine to the lazerette where it has a dedicated thru hull.

I don't see tying into the existing bilge pump dedicated output line as a good idea; is tying a bilge pump output to any other thru hull a good idea? Any suggestions? I suppose the positive thing is that a pump output like this should be above the water line, therefore adding a thru hull isn't that big of a deal.
