How about a remote pump installation?

That would help in your deep narrow bilge. Then all you would need is to mount a float switch so only half the hassle. We had that setup in the last Catalina, remote pump in the port cockpit locker, hose from a strainer in the bilge, dedicated overboard on the transom. It was wired to a float switch in the bilge and a manual switch on the panel.

Have been wrestling with the same scenario you have. Access to get a hose to our bilge is tight, current setup is a manual whale gusher in the cockpit, the hose travels through a series of single hose sized access holes to the bilge. I understand that the hose runs should be as short as possible to maximize the effectiveness of the pup, however, getting from the bilge to hull access is about impossible. The Islender staff did an excellent job tabbing the interior to the hull.
