We stop every summer in Stonington CT, home of Dodson's Boat Yard -- which is one of those boat yards that has a reputation for maintaining "gold plater" yachts with lots of bright-work. (A tour of Stonington harbor is a display of boat porn -- a very high percentage of Hinckley and other prestige makers - and many antiques.)
There was a yacht at the dock that was being varnished -- it must have been 70+ feet and the entire cabin & everything else above the decks was brightwork in beautiful "furniture finish" shape. I asked what he was using, and he said he only uses Epithanes. In my mind that was an endorsement from one who knows.
