Boats do vary a lot in this regard. I found this shot of us sailing to anchor

in a nearby often visited local anchorage, a friend took. We would normally furl the genoa before sailing into the anchorage, a beam reach to get inside.

It's just the conditions that work best for our boat under main alone, light wind and flat water. I can see the main is trimmed to a beam reach and I've brought the boat into the wind enough to luff the main, and slow our speed. I have sheeted the mizzen tight which helps keep the bow, somewhat, into the wind after lowering the main.

I hadn't thought about the easy anchor space until you mentioned it, but we're putting that to good use here. At least my wife is. I must have gone below, my work done,.....
