I don't think any builder is seeing a huge increase in sales these last few years. These down times for many builders are no doubt connected to the poor economy. But I also wonder if something isn't going on with the sailboat market as well. I read "dwindling" quite often and I can see that. But beyond economics, why?

The idea of buying your cruising boat and sailing away, doesn't seem to be holding up today.

I'll give these builders credit for no doubt pondering these ideas.

If someone told me to invest in a new modernized version of a sailboat that's not appealing to the market right now, I'd say no thanks.
