The few anchorage areas we have, all have 72 hour limits.

The area that was open years ago... at the "bottom of the bay" is now closed. Visiting cruisers however do have moorings set aside specifically for them, off of downtown, for 30 day periods... you have to prove you don't live here. (or rather that you are from somewhere else).

I have noticed in the past several months that both here, Marina del Rey, and in Oceanside, some boats now lay at anchor in some pretty rough areas... Here it is just east of Zuniga Jetty... an area rather open to the south.
