Looking at your boat, and the fairlead, and comparing that to pic of the furling line at my last block tells me where the problem exists. I see that I am rubbing against the side of the gunwale before I go into the last tiny block.

You can see the wrap around the block I am talking about... and the size of the block. But more likely it is due to the fact that it isn't quite a "fair" lead that is causing the friction issue.

This is the stays'l furling line, which is NOT a problem... the jib furler lead however is on the other side, and rigged similarly.
