The furler line is lightly loaded so if you ran something like a Garhauer series 30 block it would work fine. The 30 series is rated up to 1/2" line and has a 2 5/8" diameter sheave. I had a similar problem with a deck organizer for our main halyard. We had to crank the main up the last 50%. The organizer had 2" diameter sheaves (9/16" line) and turned through about 45° on a plastic sheave with no bearing. Once I changed ot larger diameter and ball bearings we now only crank the last 10%. Huge difference.
