We have been asked if we wanted to take a local cruise to the other end of Lake Erie for seven days. It involves something I have never done and don't feel even remotely prepared for, anchoring out for a week. My thoughts are I need to address the following:
No refrigeration, so blocks of ice. Tankage, we have 25 freshwater, 25 holding (or so the book says, I am sceptical of those numbers). We have a cold water shower, but we also have a lake full of fresh water to dive into. 12v power, right now we have a month old group 31 house deep cycle and a week old group 24 DC, no genset, solar or wind. Our power needs would only be lights and stereo, we have no A/C, TV, or inverter right now. We do not have a formal dink, we do have an inflatable Sevylor 6 person raft with a nylon cover w/oars for power.
I have had the "plan" that we would merely marina jump traveling east or west and daysail. The group planning this trip says that slips are at a premium and reserved years in advance in the islands. They stay on the hook and dink to shore when necessary.
What am I missing cruising experts?
