That's a good start for negotiations, but you're paying him for his work not his estimating skills

"Estimate" is a difficult word to define. I try to do it right up front.

They're all different I'm sure, my injection pump is pretty easy to remove and install.
The pumps where the timing is adjusted by shims can be a real bear to get right.

Given your fuel consumption you are likely putting out 17-18 hp...
Todd, what calulator are you using? Is it online?
I find the Wyman relationship between the most accurate for estimating power required under moderate conditions...
With my 80 gallon diesel tank, I'll probably never really know.
