I went to see if I could get the unit to reboot and end up in Float mode. First I disconnected the fuse at the battery, cleaned the battery positive terminal, and reconnected the fuse holder. I went below and nothing had changed-- still ending up in Absorption not Float mode. Puzzled, I then tried a really crazy thing--I read the Manual!! Sure enough, there is a detailed procedure for rebooting that includes a lot more than simply disconnecting and reconnecting the fuse holder! After following this I went below and now I was in Float mode !! Problem solved!
