Beefier hardware. 
In Response To: How has the design and construction of bluewater/offshore boats changed in the last 30 years?

() Our vessel was built in 1982. Whenever I replace a piece of deck hardware the new stuff is bigger, heavier and of course triple the price. If you look at any good newly built offshore vessel, the hardware is beefier.
That's what I notice most.
