The endless summer just won't quit up here.

Is it possible to be too warm on the coast of Maine in October? It's been close a couple times lately mid day in the sun. As soon as shadows start to lengthen, it cools down rapidly. It was nice to have a roaring fire below to warm the cabin on our old boat.

The only company we had on the water were Loons and Eiders, etc. October is a busy time for birds on the coast. It's so quiet this time of year after the sun sets.

The long weekend saw land baked westerly winds that kept seas flat for nice sailing.

Anyone else getting in some October sailing?

This yawl was making it's way downeast along the Stonington Thoroughfare at sunset.
