Crotch Island Dave. We did a bit of poking around and threading through some little tickles of water, thanks to the chartplotter.

We wanted to visit Stonington and have never found a good spot to leave the boat. Crotch is just that. I took an empty mooring but there's good space to anchor there as well.

Because Stonington is lobstering at full throttle, I raised my mizzen in the 10 knot westerly to keep the boat square to the periodic wakes that came in from the stern. To the east is one of their working lanes. The traffic ended at sunset and we enjoyed a very, very nice evening there.

It's a beautiful view of the hilly little town but far enough away, to feel removed from the hubbub.
