I tend to track the seasons here as much by the birds as the weather. Alone off Camp Island, we were mesmerized(that includes the dogs) by the flocks of Eiders and Guillimots. There were some other ducks, perhaps some Whistlers(I need a better bird book onboard) to watch as well. More and more Loons seem to be appearing on the coast here, that's nice to see.
The sounds of their groups are wonderful to hear.
At home, we live on a mini fly way between the harbor and an inland pond a mile away. This time of year the geese, and their honking, are pretty constant moving back and forth overhead. Their sound is clear even in the kitchen as I type.
They tell the end of fall is approaching.
