Satellite is very expensive and the speed you get isn't all that good. The neighbors also say that it doesn't work well when it rains/snows/is foggy, which is a lot of the time here.

I would pay for cable or DSL over the phone lines. However, I am not going to pay for the cable company to run a half mile of cable from their nearest line and DSL over the phone lines isn't available here because we are too far from the nearest switching station. There is wireless available in part of the town, but there is a hill between us and their closest transmit/receive tower. Basically we live in a Cell/cable/wireless hole
