What's a Coast 34???
In Response To: OMG Yanmar wants to put a big hole in my boat ()
If that is a 34' sailboat, a 25-30hp diesel should be more than enough power and not put a gargantuan hole in your wallet as well as running with a 1.5"-2" exhaust.
