That exhaust size seems excessive. 
In Response To: OMG Yanmar wants to put a big hole in my boat ()
I've seen it dealt with in a repower on a friends boat. The larger size complicates things. Not only a bigger hole to deal with, but bigger bulkier hoses and related extremes in size and cost for fitting the exhaust.
